After calling for a "New Social Contract" at AFP, the CEO fails to show up for the start of talks!

At 10:00 am this Thursday November 7, all the representative trade unions convened for the start of major talks on a new overall collective agreement at the invitation of CEO Emmanuel Hoog. In announcing this initiative, M. Hoog had expressed his desire to make a root-and-branch review of all the various agreements that govern industrial relations at AFP.

To the utter astonishment of your union reps, the CEO did not even show up for the first session, apparently seeing his presence as optional despite the fact that he had announced his intentions with great solemnity several weeks earlier.

Shocked by the CEO’s offhand attitude, the entire union delegation immediately walked out. As regards the reason for the CEO’s absence, we hesitate whether to attribute it to amateurism or to simple disdain for the interests of staff.

PS: Management later set a new appointment, for Wednesday November 13 at 3:30 pm, telling us that this time M. Hoog would be present.
