We Won! EFJ Statement on behalf of the Turkish Journalists Union

WE WON!

Our strike at AFP’s Turkey bureau was successfully resolved on its 12th day.

Under the terms of a one-year agreement, we have secured:

📌 A 27% salary increase

📌 A one-off payment of €2,500 per person

📌 Payment for five working days spent on strike

📌 A bonus equivalent to one month’s salary

📌 A monthly allowance of 3,500 TL to cover bills for members working from home

Following pressure at the negotiating table, attempts to divide us, and the refusal to acknowledge the legitimacy of our demand for a raise, this victory should serve as a source of inspiration for all workers in the press and publishing sectors.

We thank all AFP employees who rejected these tactics and had faith in united action.
